Born in London with African roots and later relocating to Andalusia, Yinka Esi Graves explores the physical sensations of the diverse cultural influences that have shaped flamenco. Her work examines the intersections between flamenco and other forms of bodily expression, viewed through the lens of the African diaspora and contemporary perspectives.
In her first solo production, she brings to the surface the traces of time embedded in her body, transforming themes of erasure, absence and invisibility into fertile ground for creative expression. A tribute to the often-overlooked diversity within flamenco.
