Inside Sounds

Sáiz has been a pioneer of the Spanish experimental music scene since the late 1970s. For EUROPALIA he composed the work Inside sounds, based on his reflections on Francisco de Goya’s deafness and how a deaf person might experience sounds.
Echo Collective’s musicians bring in extra string players to create, along with harp and voice, a post-classical riposte to Sáiz. Two nationalities, two generations, and a bottomless well of inspiration.
