You are warmly invited to the presentation of the film and audiovisual programme of EUROPALIA ESPAÑA on Wednesday 8 October at 6:00 PM at RITCS School of Arts (Brussels).

Building on the legacy of the 1985 edition, the 2025 programme focuses on Spanish audiovisual culture spanning the past fifty years (1975–2025), exploring how cinematic expression has responded to Spain’s profound social and political transformations during this period.

The presentation will be followed by the screening of A nuestros amigos [To Our Friends], directed by Adrián Orr (2024, 88 min).

The film chronicles five years in the life of Sara, a young woman from a working-class neighbourhood who begins university and forges her identity — torn between her friends from the neighbourhood, the new world of theatre she has entered, and the wider society she encounters as she comes of age. Adrián Orr immerses us in this pivotal period and offers a fascinating insight into the raw energy of youth and the paths we take toward our own destinies.

By integrating the theatre project of the La Tristura collective — whose play Future Lovers is also featured in the EUROPALIA ESPAÑA performing arts programme — the film provides direct contact with today’s young generation in Spain, as well as with a new wave of filmmakers with a distinctive cinematic language.

With the presence of Adrián Orr, filmmaker; Sara Toledo, actress; and Celso Jiménez, co-writer and member of La Tristura.
