Paneldiscussion about friendship and power
with Marta Echaves, Las Huecas, et al.
In De l’amistat, Las Huecas explores the theme of friendship. Can friendship survive in an era dominated by emotional capitalism and commodified relationships, or when friends collaborate professionally? Four actresses invite their ‘doubles’ onto the stage for a playful experiment in identity-splitting. The conventions of traditional theatre are breached, with the plot replaced by humour - sharp, satirical, at times surreal and absurd. It’s this shared sense of the absurd that sustains the performers and their friendship, beyond self-interest or productivity. The young collective from Barcelona performs outside Spain for the first time with this show.
