Grandissima Illusione

  • Monty, Antwerp

This playful, reflective tribute to the art of theatre takes the form of a cross-genre sci-fi vaudeville, deliberately subverting theatrical conventions that serve as both subject and playground of the piece. From the unlikely encounter of a 17th-century marquise and a tattooed theatre technician chaos unfolds, blurring timelines and opening a kind of theatrical wormhole, allowing the narrative to slip between stage time and real time. The result is a gleeful meta-theatrical experiment, inviting the audience to suspend their disbelief and revel in the joyful precariousness of fiction.
