8km on Mule is a dance performance inspired by a true story from 1928, in which a bride and her lover flee on the wedding day and are pursued and overtaken by the groom. Through movement—a combination of flamenco and contemporary dance—the performance explores the theme of forbidden love in a society that places value on
appearances. The performance takes place on a wooden plank, a confined space that reshapes movement and forces the body into constant dialogue between control and surrender.
